Baltimore School Walkout Protest

March 6, 2018, Baltimore (MD) - At least a hundred students from area schools walked out mid-day on Tuesday. They organized and marched downtown to City Hall where they were addressed by Mayor Catherine E. Pugh and Police Commissioner Darryl De Sousa. It is unclear if the remarks were planned. Mayor Pugh announced an organized march in Washington D.C. on March 24, 2018. She went on to say that 60 buses would be provided and t-shirts for each attendee. It is unclear who is paying for the buses and t-shirts. Today's rally was peaceful. Many students expressed that they believe that gun violence is contributing to unsafe schools.
