February 26, 2018, Westminster (MD) - Firefighters from New Windsor and surrounding areas responded for a barn fire in the 3400 Block of Uniontown Road. Located along the driveway for the old Uniontown School the barn was approximately 100' by 50' in size. The property owner, John and Carol-Anne Wilderson were alerted to the fire by a passer-by and quickly called 911. Wilderson said that she doesn't know how the fire started but the barn was "from the before the 1800's". Wilderson said there was livestock in the barn at the time of the fire and most had escaped the flames, she believes perhaps a pig might have been lost.

The fire was controlled by a single alarm and a tanker task force, which is used in rural non-hydrant firefighting operation. The fire is under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshall.
